OCTOBER 27-29 , 2017
Fall Retreat is a great time to come together and explore what it means to be in relationship with God and with each other. Every year, Fall Retreat is a time where we gain a personal and communal sense of what God is inviting us to, as we experience the rest and beauty of a weekend away in the hill country. Wherever you are in your faith, Fall Retreat is a great time and place to reflect on next steps with your Asian American Campus Ministry family.
"Fall Retreat is a unique environment that fosters brotherhood, discipleship, and devotion. It's a sacred time where God reveals his identity and power. For the past three years, Fall Retreat has never failed to impact my spiritual walk with God - come experience it for yourself." Kevin Li, Senior
"AACM Fall Retreat was a place where I could experience God's forgiveness and love tangibly through both new and old friendships, growing personally and in community!" Jennifer Cho, Junior
"Fall Retreat was really amazing because it gave me an opportunity not only to grow my relationship with God but also to grow my relationship with my class! A lot of us credit it as being the time when we really came together. the activities were also really helpful in helping me identify the ways I could serve God that I really hadn't thought about before." Nic Garza, Sophomore
As Christians, we believe that God is always present. He is always speaking to us! However, sometimes, we can doubt that God speak. We get worried and intimidated, and maybe you're discouraged because you've felt like you've never heard from God.
During retreat, we want to confront any doubts or fears that we have in hearing from God. We want to recognize the ways he's already speaking to us ! God is near, and he loves you. Come join us as we learn to recognize God's voice for ourselves, for each other, and for our campus! Experience his nearness and his love for you: through nature, through our community, through prayer, through taking risk, through fun. Would you consider spending a weekend meeting and hearing for God?
Originally from LA, Maureen has lived in Austin and worked with InterVarsity for ten years. She is currently one of our staff for AACM and has spoken all over the nation. This conference is hosted by Asian American Campus Ministry InterVarsity. We are the Asian American reaching chapter of InterVarsity, a nationwide ministry organization, at the University of Texas at Austin. Our hope is to see Christ followers developed and the Asian American communities at UT transformed. To learn more about us: www.texasaacm.com
What is InterVarsity? InterVarsity serves as a collegiate campus ministry dedicated to the instruction and training of students and faculty in the areas of evangelism, discipleship and mission. Campus staff are on hand to assist the students and student leaders of the InterVarsity chapters on their campuses.
Through on-campus visits, small and large group meetings, seminars, weekend conferences and summer training programs, students learn to be more effective in their own Christian walk, in their witness to those around them and in prayerful consideration of their part in the worldwide outreach of the church of Jesus Christ. InterVarsity is distinguished by its indigenous approach, believing that students are the best suited to reach out to their peers.
